PRODUCT SPECIFICATION — ELECTRICAL STABILITY TESTER
Electrical Stability Tester (EST)
The Electrical Stability (ES) test measures a drilling fluid’s emulsion stability and oil-wetting
capability. The Inmotion EST applies a precision voltage-ramped sinusoidal signal across a pair of
electrodes immersed in the fluid sample and reports the peak voltage at which the fluid becomes
electrically conductive, giving mud engineers a fast, repeatable check of oil-based and syntheticbased drilling fluid integrity in the field or laboratory.
Complete with rugged aluminum carrying case, digital LED readout, and probe electrode for field and laboratory use
FEATURES
✔ Digital Display: 4-digit LED readout gives a direct, easy-to-read breakdown voltage measurement
(0–2047 range).
✔ Sine-Wave Circuitry: Stable sine-wave output (in place of older square-wave designs) enables
continuous testing with accurate, repeatable data.
✔ Dual AC/DC Operation: Runs on AC220V 50Hz (standard) or AC120V 60Hz (USA), ±10% mains,
or an internal DC 15V supply, charging automatically whenever mains power is connected.
✔ Simple Controls: RUN / STOP / RESET pushbuttons with POWER, RUN, and ALARM indicator
lights, plus an audible buzzer on breakdown, for straightforward one-touch operation.
✔ Rugged Housing: Heavy-duty aluminum flight case with foam-lined interior, reinforced corners,
and steel latches protects the meter and probe in field conditions.
