Drilling fluids and cement slurries often carry entrained or trapped air that can throw off density readings taken with a conventional mud balance. The Inmotion Pressurized Mud Balance solves this by pressurizing the sample cup before it is weighed, driving out trapped air for a true density reading. As with a standard mud balance, a sample cup of known volume is offset by a fixed counterweight at the other end of the beam, and a sliding-weight rider travels along a graduated scale until a level bubble confirms balance, with the rider’s position on the scale indicating fluid density.
